Longg

A tiny dragon spirit guarding the power of the Dragon Miraculous necklace.

Longg is the Kwami associated with the Dragon Miraculous, a powerful artifact housed within a necklace simply called the Dragon Miraculous, which features a green gem. As one of the many spirits serving the Guardians of the Miraculous (also known as the Order of the Guardians), Longg grants its holder exceptional abilities tied to draconic energy and strength. While often kept hidden by the villain Hawk Moth (Gabriel Agreste) for much of the series—he does not become the Guardian until later in Season 4 after stealing the Miracle Box from Master Fu—this spirit eventually found temporary wielders among Paris's defenders.

Lore & Background

The spirit is known for its loyalty and quiet demeanor, often waiting patiently for a worthy holder to activate its potential. When activated, it transforms into a miniature dragon-like creature with horns and scales, reflecting the mythical nature of its namesake. Its presence signifies a connection to ancient forces that predate modern Paris. The Dragon Miraculous is a necklace, not a ring—the ring belongs to the Snake Miraculous.

In Their Own Story

The small green creature perched on the velvet stand, watching the dust motes dance in the dim light of the secret vault. It knew this silence would not last forever; eventually, the ring would be chosen again. Longg hummed a low, vibrating sound, feeling the dormant energy within its form pulse with anticipation. Somewhere out there, a hero needed the strength of the dragon to protect what mattered most.

Reader's Guide

The Dragon Miraculous manifests as a simple yet elegant ring that houses the Kwami Longg. When activated, the wearer transforms into a superhero themed around dragons, gaining access to potent energy manipulation and physical enhancements. The transformation typically involves a specific phrase invoking the dragon's name or power. The primary limitation is the standard time constraint shared by all Miraculouses; if the holder does not detransform before the timer runs out, they risk losing their powers permanently until the next day. Additionally, the ring must be kept safe from akumatized villains who seek to corrupt its energy. Notable users include Max Kanté, who wielded it as Ryuko during a critical battle against a villain with illusionary powers. Later in the timeline, Marinette Dupain-Cheng temporarily held Longg alongside her Ladybug Miraculous to combat overwhelming threats that required combined magical forces.
